The building you see today has many a story to tell. None quite so dramatic as that of the devastating fire in 1995. This fire would change the fate of Wem Town Hall forever.
As a result Wem Town Hall Community Trust was created in 2006 in order to preserve the town hall; taking over full operational responsibilities in 2014.
WTH has endured many a tragedy and set-back. However, like a pheonix from the flames, it has risen again to begin a new phase of its life. This time as a lively arts and entertainment venue located in the heart of Wem; a small market town in North Shropshire.
Visitors can enjoy a great night of film, music or theatre, pop in for coffee with friends or catch the latest exhibition.
On hand are our friendly reception team who have access to local information and will always do their best to help with any enquiry; from What’s On, to B&B’s and bus timetables.
Throughout the year we host a wide variety of events. These range from meetings and conferences to civic functions and large scale celebratory events. Hiring WTH assures you of first class service whilst supporting a community enterprise.
Furthermore we have pledged to meet the Family Arts Standards, a UK-wide recognised
quality-mark demonstrating excellence in family provision.
