To help develop the next generation of British film industry talent the lead body for film in the UK, the British Film Institute (BFI), in partnership with BAFTA, Pinewood Studios and the Department for Education are now offering young people aged 16 to 19 years industry based training and work experience through the national BFI Film Academy Network.
- Work on a ‘real life’ film commission
- Collaborate with award winning animators and filmmakers
- Learn about all aspects of film and animation production
- Take part in masterclasses with filmmakers, Universities and Production Companies
- Gain a qualification
- Access the BFI’s ongoing national Film Academy programme, including BAFTA mentoring, Industry Placements, and NFTS courses.
The Academy covers film history, idea and script development, practical animation and filmmaking techniques, editing, sound design, music, special effects and how to get your work screened.
BFI Film Academy dates at MediaActive (Location: Shrewsbury; Times (tbc): 10.30am to 5.30pm):
February 2021: 6th, 7th; 13th; 15th to 19th (Production Week); 27th, 28th
