Volunteers

Wem Town Hall exists thanks to the time, dedication and commitment of many volunteers working in a variety of roles. As the arts, learning, community and enterprise programme develops there are more and more ways for you to lend a hand. With your support we can ensure WTH thrives for the benefit of all.

We are currently recruiting volunteers specifically to help with room set ups involving setting out tables, chairs and staging as well as volunteers to work behind the café bar for evening events making coffees, serving drinks and taking payment. For more information on these roles please Click here. If you would like some information about other volunteering opportunities at Wem Town Hall please contact us on 01939 232 299.

As a volunteer at Wem Town Hall we can guarantee that you’ll have fun, be part of a great team and you’ll get to enjoy our lively programme first hand.

Here’s what some of our current volunteers have to say about volunteering at Wem Town Hall:

Jill – “I moved to Wem in August 2012 and became a volunteer shortly after; it’s been a great way of getting to know people and become involved in the community & social life of my new town. I do a variety of duties; reception, box office and usher and enjoy all of them; the managers, staff and fellow volunteers are friendly and easy to work alongside. Wem Town Hall is a great asset to our town and we are fortunate to have such a variety of activities, films, concerts & theatre right on our doorstep; I’m very pleased to do my ‘bit’ to support it.”

Valerie – “I started volunteering at Wem Town Hall about 2 years ago. I am a mum with 2 children at primary school and am able to fit the hours with the school days. It’s a good opportunity to get back into “work mode”, learn some new skills and meet new people.  I usually work at the Front Desk and Box office and sometimes help with the Ushering for movies. The WTH Team are very friendly and it’s an interesting place to be.  It’s also good to give something back to the community and help support Wem Town Hall.”

If you would like to support Wem Town Hall but perhaps don’t have the time to volunteer why not think about joining the WTH Community Trust Friends Scheme or perhaps make a donation towards our activities? Please visit Friends or Invest in WTH section for more information.
