Withnail and I – Young Curators Choice

Friday July 11th, 2025 - 7.30pm

The British cult classic comedy drama Withnail and I stars Richard E Grant and Paul McGann as two unemployed actors, who share a flat in Camden Town in 1969. Needing a holiday, they obtain the key to a country cottage in the Lake District belonging to Withnail’s wealthy eccentric uncle Monty and drive there. The weekend holiday proves less recuperative than they expected though!

This film has been chose by Shropshire Young Curators – a group of people aged 15-19 who have been learning all about film programming and how to put on an event in cinemas.  Withnail and I was chosen because it features beautiful rural landscapes just like our very own Shropshire but also is a British cult classic film that deserves to be watched on the big screen.

The young curators have had fun creating a special screening experience for our audience with themed snacks and guest drinks available on the evening – please join us for a special night out at the cinema!
