Love Your Local Market 2018
This May is Love Your Local Market fortnight! We want you to show your love for our local Wem market, meet the traders, talk to us about trading on the market and share your images and messages using the hashtag #LYM2018!
Wem market was started in 1202 and was originally held on a Sunday until the law changed in 1351, forbidding Sunday markets. Since then the market has been held on a Thursday at Wem Town Hall and Jubilee Square, with a monthly Farmer’s Market held in Jubilee Square by the Co-op.
There are lots of lovely produce available on offer, including flowers, eggs, cakes, fresh produce, as well as gifts, cards, tools, pet and household supplies. So pop down on a Thursday 8am – 1pm and support your local market!
